The globalised world is demanding more and more manpower to convert growth Opportunity into jobs and stable income. Every year, millions of job seekers enter the job market with their skill sets. That’s why skill development is now India’s one of the highest priorities. Skill building is a powerful tool to empower individuals and improve their social acceptance.
As India aims to become a global economic powerhouse, it requires preparing its youth with skills and knowledge that will give them employment to make India a developed economy.
The government of India knows it very well that skill building is the need of this country and for that government has initiated a various project of enhancing skills under various disciplines. To build a skilled and employable India, government has created a separate Ministry for Skills Development & Entrepreneurship which has given the responsibility of multiple skill development initiatives proposed by the government for enhancing the skills of people.
Quoting Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Independence Day 2014 Speech – Today, the world and India need a skilled workforce. If we have to promote the development of our country then our mission has to be `skill development’ and `Skilled India’. Millions and Millions of Indian youth should acquire the skills which could contribute towards making India a modern country. I also want to create a pool of young people who are able to create jobs and the ones who are not capable of creating jobs and do not have the opportunities, they must be in a position to face their counterparts in any corner of the world while keeping their heads high by virtue of their hard work and their dexterity of hands and win the hearts of people around the world through their skills. We want to go for the capacity building of such young people. My brothers and sisters, having taken a resolve to enhance the skill development at a highly rapid pace, I want to accomplish this.
Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has initiated several schemes under the vision of Skill Development for our youth: Skill India, Start-up India, Make in India etc. There are some organizations like AITMC (All India Technical and Management Council) and YWCI ( Youth Welfare Council of India) who support these initiatives and are contributing for the development of Indian youth for a better future.

AITMC focuses primarily on auxiliary skill development and provides skill-based training. AITMC plays a vital role by providing skill development to more than 2 million people across India through its 27 Centers of Excellence. (COE). These Centers bridge the widening divide between those who have access to opportunities and employment. AITMC is not only expanding facilities of skill training on a larger scale but also maintaining their superior quality of training to contribute to making India a global sourcing hub for skilled employees.
AITMC is well appreciated by Anandiben Patel for their focused work on growing employment and entrepreneurship. She added AITMC also acts as a catalyst in bringing about growth and development in Indian economy.Under the ‘Skill India’ Initiative AITMC aims to skill youth in such a manner that they get employment or they can start their own business.
